After years of excuse making, three children and months of procrastination....I joined the gym. This is something I have wanted to do, but didn't want to do. Those who know me, know that I generally don't have any insecurities. I don't try to hide my true self. What you see is what you get. However, when it comes to stepping into a gym I am WAY out of my comfort zone. I danced in high school and that is the last committed relationship I had with exercise...yes, my last and I had to admit that to the trainer I met with today. How embarrassing! Now I have walked here and there, but nothing with much commitment or consistency. I have been rather disciplined with my weight, but I'm SO not in shape. So after joining the gym I had to go get new workout clothes, because I figured my Umbros probably wouldn't cut it these days. I went and discovered there is actually "style" in workout attire...yes, my friends, workout clothes now follow trends. How long has this been happening???? (Never mind, don't answer that.) I grabbed some clothes and stuck with black, white and gray for now. I am not, after all, throwing on one of those cute turquoise tops. Nope, I will not have any attention drawn to my clumsy self. I'd rather blend in with the walls, thank you.
So I figure, there would be no harm in rewarding myself with say...a pedicure or a massage for every four weeks I stay committed to it, right???? Have some "me" time, regular pedicures, and get in shape a the same time? Doesn't sound like too bad of a plan....

oh, I'm sure you could rock the umbros! And I definitely think that a mani/pedi every 4 weeks is a fair trade off!
