So, I saw on the calendar it was Valentines Day yesterday....or "Love Day" per Blues Clues. Being politically correct for Valentine's Day? I mean, really....oh well, just not my thing I guess. I did enjoy a day home with our girls, making chocolate cupcakes and watching Mary Ella shovel down her "take" from her Valentine's party on Wednesday. We spent time outside since it is supposed to be wet all weekend. Then at 1:30 I get a phone call that sent us into management mode...You see, we have an ongoing saga with our Explorer. Back in June, I took it to the dealership because it was leaking transmission fluid. They said it needed a new "pan" and something else which we paid an arm and a leg for. We felt they weren't being totally honest with me about some things (way too long of a story), so we opted to have the transmission stuff repaired and to leave everything else they said was wrong alone and we were going to take it somewhere else to have inspected. So we picked the car up and the transmission was no longer leaking. Three weeks later Scott and I were taking the girls to eat and pulled out of our neighborhood only to her a horrible grind in the transmission. We turned around and took it to a mechanic in Galveston we had used before. The verdict was that the transmission needed to be replaced (a very expensive deal). Funny how Ford failed to see the transmission pan full of metal shavings that they had just worked on. Anyways, we got it replaced. It was in and out of the shop for a month because of a leak they couldn't seem to completely repair. Fast forward to now...Scott noticed it was continuing to leak. We took it to a shop that specialized in transmissions and he basically told us it wasn't done right to begin with and we needed to call the Galveston mechanic to have them do it right. So I called Scott who said it was going to be another late day and wasn't sure we would be able to get it all done. By the grace of God, he somehow managed to make it home so we could get it taken care of. After driving to Alvin down to Galveston and back up to our home it was 6:15 pm. We went through the Wendy's drive-thru and came home to have our Valentine's dinner. Again, I was given the gift of more than cooperative kiddos during this whole ordeal. I only heard, "I'm staaaaaarving" one time at the very end of our journey. So let this be another public service announcement....ANY time there is a problem with your transmission, DON'T take it to any car mechanic. Only take it to an actual transmission repair shop. Evidently, it is a highly specialized job......lesson learned.
Anyways, before the dreaded phone call. I captured some cute moments the kids had.

Y'all haven't seen Molly Kate in a while....check out the belly!

our tweeties

Rollin' around on the floor. Is 4 months old too young to start rough housing?

Addy loves to have her feet scratched and tickled.

The girls are too cute!! And I bet they have dad wrapped around their fingers!
My check engine light keeps coming on and I just keep trying to ignore it. AHHHHH! I hate car issues. The girls are beautiful and it looks like they love each other so much. Aren't girls so much fun. We have been so busy, so I hope to get a new post up in the next day or two.
Love,
Tara
