Re-engaged

Our poor blog is suffering from neglect and SO much has happened! Scott completed his marathon study sessions by taking his oral board exam in New York City (now you know every time I type or say that I make it sound like the Picanti sauce commercials for some twisted reason!). Anyways, he won't get the results for another few weeks and hopefully before our Vegas trip :). In the midst of all that stuff was preparation for Mary Ella's dance recital and her first church choir performance. Some small details are that Molly's nose continues to drain like a river and an hour before Scott arrived home Addy gave herself the biggest shiner I've ever seen on a kid by running full steam into the corner of our dining room table. Yes, it's always gotta be something. If only I could get her to look forward while she is running :). I've taken pictures. When Scott left to take his boards, I think we all began to deflate. Mary Ella cried and prayed for "free time" to return with her daddy, I had to explain to Addy that planes don't get lost in the sky like balloons do, and I, myself, had a few tearful moments knowing when Scott returned home he would be free from all the shackles and chains. I know the questions looms, "how does he think he did?" Well, I tell ya, no one comes out of those jumping for joy. In fact, most come out thinking they've failed. So, I'm not sure that Scott necessarily thinks he failed....he just doesn't know or have a "feel" for it one way or the other. We shall see and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

We held a "surprise" party for him upon his return and the kiddos made signs. Well, Addy and Mary Ella did. Molly ate the crayon....literally.

We tucked everyone into bed that night and just hung out together. At 5:15am the next morning Addy was crying on the stairs with a HIGH fever. Of course, Motrin did the trick, but Addy had to stay home from school. At least she could spend time with dad and I escaped to run errands child free (ahhhhhh!) :).

Right after the table jumped in front of her

2 days later....

Fortunately Addy's fever was short-lived and we were able to get on with the rest of the cuteness that awaited us....Mary Ella's recital and church choir performance. At first Mary Ella was just excited to wear make-up for the recital, but as soon as it was over (she did SO great by the way), she came up to me and said, "I want to do this FOREVER!" And, yes, I cried watching her up there.

After the recital, Scott decided to take care of some unfinished business with an armadillo that has made a home in our flower bed Uggggh!

....and he WON!

Below is a picture of Mary Ella's entrance into the sanctuary. I'll post the video later

We are so excited to be resuming family activities and having Scott join us. Although relieved to have it behind him, I can tell he sometimes feels a little lost thinking he's forgetting to do something :). More to come....
