Que Pasa?

We've been on a quest....a Mexican food quest. We LOVE Mexican food and have set out to find a regular spot that we can satisfy our urges. Scott and I have been to 3 different places. I'm not sure what seasoning they are using, but I've left two of the restaurants in a sneezing fit that lasts for a couple of hours. A mexican food allergy...you gotta be kidding!!!???? I'm eager to go back to my regular places in Houston to see if I sneeze there. Anyways, here is the run down

1. Place #1- not bad, a lot like what we used to get in Shreveport

2. Place #2- Are these the tortillas we buy at the grocery store???? The fajita meat was only edible if you saturated it in cheese. Did they really mess up the guacamole??? How can you mess up guacamole???

3. Place #3- "I'm sorry, we can't wrap the enchiladas in flour tortillas. They can only do corn." What???? Did they really say that? Yes they did. The flour tortillas wouldn't have helped anyways.

Another thing I've noticed on the menu....Cheese sauce (aka Queso). Do I really need to explain the problem this presents for the crediblity of Mexican food establishments? Any ideas???? Maybe I just need therapy as I think I might be suffering from Mexican food snobbery.

Cheese Sauce! It sure taste good on them Fa-GEE-tas.

BTW... not only are you a Mexican food snob, you are a blog snob, too. How many comments have you left on other people's blog?

That's right. I'm calling you out, sister!

No. Not snobbery. There is something to be said for good Mexican food. And once you have had it.....a lesser meal will not do. I dare say that Tyler is not a Mexican food mecca. You might have to travel outside of the city limits and find something off the highway with only semi trucks in the parking lot.

I just checked your blog and saw your comment about not getting my email. I will try to find your address again and email you my contact info. I'd love to meet.

And I might could help you out with the Mexican food! It's important.

Well, we had a great time with your sister and Mom. We all love them soooooooo much. Can't wait for the sweer news about the B-day party today. About flour tortillas.....CALL the manager, all of us are insensed!!!!!!! Now, when we talk about favs, and you find one sorta like the one in Shreveport...I really believe you're OK. It is nice to know an owner of one though. They might even use flour tortillas and maybe have real cheese sauce instead of flour and flavorings (free). Thanks, I really like paying for the real thing. Yes, we are all Mexican food snobs......Oh yes, crispy light chips. So happy for your wonderful NORMAL life. Happy Birthday Scott, your B-day always slips by me...even on the calender and 5 days before me. Love you all very much, Aunt MB
