Aunt Mariberta, you might want to skip this posting as it might make you cringe.... The other day I invited Mary Ella into the bathroom (AKA torture chamber) to brush her hair. I received the normal protest. Who could blame her? It usually takes me a good 15 minutes to detangle the multiple knots in her hair. I am still amazed at how she can twist her hair into perfectly formed knots. Nevertheless, it was at this point I asked her if we could cut her hair. She was most excited, so I went and found the sharpest pair of scissors we had and wet her hair. I do realize this was a bit impulsive on my part, but "how hard could it be, right???" Of course, cutting my daughter's hair was on my list of "I'll never do...." simply because I have crooked bangs in almost all of my school pictures due to my mother cutting my hair. Anyways, I cut 4 inches off the bottom and when we were finished, she shook her head and said, "Thanks mom, that feels much better."
