On July 17th we celebrated our oldest daughter, Mary Ella, turning SIX. It is simply hard to believe these years keep flying by and she now wears a necklace that reads, "1st grade rocks!". What???? Just six years ago I held a sleepy newborn in my arms pressing her soft forehead into my lips several times a day. Fortunately, she is still a cuddle bug, but the kid can hardly fit in my lap anymore! Despite seeking those "cuddle" times, she is busy conquering the world. Nothing brings me more joy (or more tears) than to see her succeed at something completely new or to see her precious face shining on stage. I mean, I teared up when they sang "Happy Birthday" at Jalapeno Tree for goodness sake! Just to see her "light up" brings joy and a flood of emotions for this sentimental momma. I can not imagine what life would be like around here without her gentle guidance and leadership of her two little sisters. That is not to say there aren't sibling conflicts, but in those moments when they are off in a corner, I get to witness the lessons in love she demonstrates for them. What a gift she is to Addy and Molly.... Well, she's a gift to all of us! Happy Birthday sweet daughter! God continues to shape you in more creative and beautiful ways than I could have ever imagined! May this next year be full of happy endings, new accomplishments and most of all full of love and laughter. Love you!
